Caroline’s Fine Wine Cellar is situated in the King’s Warehouse of the V&A Waterfront, and has been trading since 2002. Lara Jordaan, general manager, and her two assistant managers, Jaco and Amelia, are true wine fanatics, and daily tasting and sourcing of the finest wines is their passion.

The stocks are tightly packed into a cosy shop, with over 1000 wines, both local and European. The world’s best spirits, from Cape Brandy and Russian Vodka to special gin such as Hendrick’s and Tanqueray and 75 different single Malt Whiskies such as Ardbeg, Dalmore, Laphroaig and Springbank. Also stocked are Chateau-bottled Calvados, Armagnac and prestigious Cognacs such as Camus and Delamain. Champagne from the most prestigious houses are stocked as well as the best Cap Classiques from Cape vineyards.

This store has been in the Cape Town CBD since 1997, and is run by owner Caroline Rillema with Salomien Erasmus and Sipho. This is the engine-room of the business, where all stock is held in bulk, and a huge range of over 1,500 South African wines are kept, with the largest range of European wines in any retail store in South Africa. We have over 40 different Bordeaux , 30 Burgundies and 15 from Chablis and the Loire . Our forte is Italy and our selection is as good as you will find in Italy itself: we have ten different single-vineyard Barolos, Brunellos from Montalcino, Chianti Classicos, Morellino di Scansano, Vernaccia, Gavi and Super-Tuscans such as Tignanello and Ornellaia... from Spain we have Sierra Cantabria and Torres, and from the Rhone there is Crozes-Hermitage, Hermitage and Condrieu...
