Hemel en Aarde Region

Established in 1989, Bouchard Finlayson is a boutique winery dedicated to the making of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc wines of outstanding quality.

Located in the wine ward of walker bay, an hour and a half from Cape Town, the 125 hectare property currently has 22 hectares under vines, the rest is mountain land, covered by the spectacular indigenous 'fynbos' flora of the Western Cape. With only a small portion of the farm under vine Bouchard Finlayson is able to ensure the conservancy of the mountain land.

This is the second release of a Reserve Sauvignon Blanc from Bouchard Finlayson Winery.  This vintage yielded a low cropping-reward which presents a medium to full bodied cuvée with 14 % Semillon component.

After thirty years of working with this wonderful grape their winemaking has progressively refined and ameliorated the skills to match the requirements presented by the heavy clay terrior of the Hemel-en-Aarde vineyard. This wine is dry, but notably fruity with cantaloupe, gooseberry and white pepper, garnished with complex secondary tropical notes, leading to a crisp, savoury and lasting sumptuous finish! This wine has been made with the express purpose of ageing and it is anticipated that it will offer great reward for at least five years.
