Best Non-Vintage Rose MCC Amorim Cork Challenge 2011

Franschhoek Region

Graham Beck Wines is acknowledged as one of the great sources of fine wine from the Cape. With vineyards on four farms in three distinct viticultural regions in the Western Cape, Graham Beck's two estates - the original Robertson Cellar and the Franschhoek Cellar - now operate in tandem, while the cellar master, Pieter Ferreira and the respective winemakers, Erika Obermeyer (Franschhoek) and Pierre de Klerk (Robertson), continue to express the individuality, sophistication and passion for which they are renowned.

Blend: Chardonnay 55%, Pinot Noir 45%

This finely crafted non-vintage creation with its charming silver-pink blush and exuberant character is a Cap Classique destined for those who appreciate a fizz with a flair.  Flirtatious and fun with pin-prick tiny bubbles that burst gently and exhiliratingly on your tongue, it's a tingle no celebration or sunset should be without. Aromas of raspberries, cherries and secondary whiffs of minerality. A lively mousse but fine in the mouth, with subtle red berry flavours enlivened by bright acid.  It is an elegant and well structured rose.
