The Eleanor Chardonnay honours the matriarch of the Finlayson family who, with her husband Maurice, owned Hartenberg Estate (then "Montagne") from 1948 to 1977. Strong and resolute in character, yet always sophisticated and poised, who better personifies their super premium Chardonnay? Barrel maturation of 13 months in 45% new and 55% second fill French oak, limited to 20 barrel.

Food Matching

Scallops, slow roasted pork belly, steamed West Coast crayfish with lemon butter

Tasting Note

Creamy citrus, nutty, mineral and elderflower flavours with a refreshing acidity. An elegant wine with a persistent finish

Independent Tasting Note

" Sately restraint, wonderful depth of flavour. Textured oatmeal glistens amongst quince fruits, all new wood gives gravitas to enduring viscous finish." John Platter 2011
