100% Syrah

This once well-known 21ha. Tulbagh estate (est 1978) was almost forgotten, until new ownership by Henk de Bruyn breathed new life into it. Promising young winemaker David Sadie is turning the beautiful grape quality into beautiful wines and we stock most of them. When tasting with him, we snapped up 132 bottles of this tiny production of Blanc de Noir for you. It is all about freshness with a low alcohol of only 11.5%. The Syrah grapes were whole bunch pressed with no extended skin contact, in order to obtain the best quality free-run juice possible and to avoid a red wine. Delicate red fruit is exhibited on a crisp, fresh, clean and bone-dry wine. Drink in 2012.
