Region: Western Cape
This enticing Chenin blanc celebrates Nederburg’s founder, Philippus Wolvaart, who established the Nederburg farm in 1791.
The grapes are picked at full ripeness from dryland bush vines. The wine is a blend of four differently vinified components. One was fermented in 300L and 500L French oak; another in large, very old wood; a third in stainless steel and the fourth underwent carbonic maceration. All were kept on the lees for 9 months. A superb combination of freshness and complexity with ripe apricot, orange and floral characters laced with spice and minerality.
Can age 7-10 years.
