With great structure and drinkability, its flavours evolve from mint and violet to raspberry and spices. In the mouth, it is full, dry, solid and persistent. Big, supple tannins supporting solid fruit, sweet berry finish. This wine pairs well with meat dishes. Serve at 18° C after decanting for an hour or two.
In barrels of 500 litres for the first twelve months, then transferred to oak barrels of 50 hectoliters for the next 24 months, at the end of which is assemblage and bottling. Rests in the bottle at a constant temperature of 14° C for six months before release.
Tasting note 27th March 2020 ( Caroline ):
Bright garnet, medium depth. Nose immediately delivers exciting aromas of pomegranate, balsamic, cherry, red roses. On palate, hints of spice line a deep, layered fruitiness which is of medium weight. The tannins are dry but supple, the acidity is fresh. Floral, spicy flavours come through in this elegant, beautifully flavoured Barolo which delivers now, but will benefit from a further five years ( 2025 ). Excellent!
