In 2011 Bartho became a member of the prestigious Cape Winemakers Guild – a privilege acknowledging him as an expert in his field. At the time he was cellarmaster for Hermanuspietersfontein. He has also won the Diners Club Winemaker of the year award, and now he and his wife Sune run Wijnskool, their own venture which promotes education in winemaking. This is one of their fine wines.
It has a delightful peach blossom pink colour and refreshing raspberry and red cherry flavours. Provençal-style dry rosé from Rhône grape varieties Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre and Viognier. A unique Bartho-designed juice blend with a very light whiff of French oak. An excellent accompaniment to summer luncheon salads and fresh young cheeses.
