In 1988 one of the Cape’s foremost winemakers, Beyers Truter, formed a partnership with four ardent wine lovers in Johannesburg with one ideal in mind: To produce a wine of exceptional character. After exploring the Cape Winelands for a suitable location, they found a perfectly situated small farm in the Koelenhof area within the Stellenbosch Wine of Origin region. The first Beyerskloof vineyards were planted in 1988. Following the acquisition of an additional 100 hectares in the Bottelary winelands of Stellenbosch in 1997, the landholding increased again in 2018 with the purchase of a fifty hectare spread of vineyards, located between the winery and the Simonsberg. Today, winemaker Anri Truter continues to build on the legacy of his father.
A Cape blend of Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot the Beyerskloof Faith is a testament to the faith Beyers Truter has in Pinotage and the abundant blessings of nature melded in this ultimate expression of South Africa’s heritage grape sired in Stellenbosch soils.
