Crafted from a patch of vines planted in 1979 by Boplaas patriarch Oupa Danie Nel, the Boplaas Heritage White Muscadel perfectly reflects the character of the gnarled low-yield Calitzdorp vines from which it is borne.
Intense citrus, candied pineapple, ginger honeysuckle and plump apricot greets the taster, while the palate is full and lengthy, yet lifted by bright acidity and rounded off with a spice notes.
Deserving of careful cellaring over the next few decades and paired with traditional Cape Malay favourites, comforting Cantonese or simply chilled on its own.
