In 1930 Ernest Monmarthe founded Champagne Monmarthe and since then the family has lived and worked in Ludes in the middle of the Reims mountain. Since 1990 Jean-Guy has taken over the management of the company from his father Guy and continues to manage it together with his wife Sandrine. The area planted with vines is 17 hectares, divided into 22 parcels classified as premier cru divided at about 30% among the three traditional vines for a total annual production of 150,000 bottles. A small family-run maison where every champagne is produced with only the grapes harvested in the vineyards that make up the property. Six wines available, all classified as 1er Cru where the vintage brut stands out, always produced without malolactic fermentation and the Coup de Coeur, produced with an extra brut dosage and offered for sale after at least 4 years on the lees. This small company fully represents the tradition of the manipulant récoltant through wines of character and elegant that over time, express their marked minerality.
