Acclaimed for bespoke wines and sweeping panoramic views, Constantia Glen is one of the gems of the Constantia Valley, the home of South African wine, with a proud history of winemaking dating back to 1685.
Constantia Glen has a unique position cradled between the Constantiaberg and Table Mountain (World Heritage Site) ranges, with predominantly north-east facing slopes. This singular location allows exposure to the late afternoon sun ideal for the slow ripening that shapes their classically expressed wines. Decomposed granite and Table Mountain sandstone are the predominant soil type that lend minerality and the graceful character to the wines. High water retention of the rich sub-soil allows for sustainable dry land cultivation, while ecologically sound practices include biological insect and pest control by means of natural preditors. Their intrinsic terroir footprint is echoed in the unique insignia embossed on each Constantia bottle.
Constantia Glen Five is their Flagship wine, a classic blend of the five archetypal Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot.
