Dark plum colour. Nose open and generous, offering black cherry, roses, violet and black pepper, so typical of Shiraz. All this follows on to the flavour, which is supple and lifted, juicy and delicious. So ripe, yet acidity so perfect. Produced on an estate in southern Sicily, close to Agrigento. Grown in white quartzite soils, ten km from the coast, hence the freshness.
Begs for some Sicilian Salumi and cheeses, although it complemented our Spaghetti Bolognaise very well.
