Danie de Wet, present owner of De Wetshof Estate, studied viticulture and cellar technology at Geisenheim, the famous German wine institute. Danie pioneered the noble white varieties of Europe in South Africa. It creates a range of wines shaped by the diversity of site-specific vineyards exposed to the region’s unique soil. Each wine in the range exudes character and individuality and rates among the finest Chardonnays in the New World with a style described as classical and Burgundian. It combines good common sense viticultural and oenological practices with cutting-edge technology, creating a distinctive portfolio of top quality wines. Today at the helm, are Johann and Pieter de Wet.
