The Domaine is located in the northernmost region of Chablis, almost bordering the Champagne region and is operated by by the Gautheron family. Currently the winery is run by 5th generation wine maker Alain Gautheron assisted by his son Cyril. Between them they cultivate almost 30 hectares of Chardonnay vines grown on calcareous and marl soils situated on east facing slopes. Their vines are spread over 19 plots in some of the best municipalities in the region and lutte raisonee (semi-organic agriculture) is employed. The 1er Cru Les Fourneaux comes from the afore-mentioned slopes situated near the village of Fleys and the vineyard is named for its warm mesoclimate (fourneaux means “furnace” in French).

Tasting note:
White gold with greenish reflections. Powerful and elegant nose. Peach, mango, citronella with aromas of spices. The palate is dense and alive at the same time, perfect balanced.
