Dorrance Wines is in Heritage Square, one of Cape Town’s most iconic buildings. The exposed granite walls, dimly-lit rows of barriques and an old forge provide the perfect old world setting for a unique City Winery. Christophe & Sabrina Durand’s quest corresponds with Dorrance wines’ credo of producing finely crafted wines in the French tradition. Hailing from Calvados in France, Christophe moved to Cape Town in 1995, where he established himself as a supplier of premium French barriques. However, the quest to discover South African wines that expressed origin and individuality led to the release of his first wine in 2000. This wine is from their 2nd-tier range which is all about freshness, balance and drinkability. The Blanc is a 100% Chenin Blanc, which grapes are sourced from vineyards in the Swartland.
