Flagstone Music Room Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

The Flagstone winemaking operation started in a run-down shell of an old depot in Cape Town harbour – it was South Africa’s first urban winery. In 2002 production outgrew the location and Flagstone moved to an old dynamite factory in Somerset West, where all Flagstone wines are now made. They have been sourcing grapes from their five core vineyards since 2003. Viticultural strategies are specifically tailored to individual varieties and vineyard parameters. The natural environment in which the vines grow and bear fruit plays a huge role in the style and quality of the resultant wine. Every bottle of Flagstone wine is handcrafted, and so too is the label.
Elsie Fraser-Munn, Flagstone’s Founder, was a legendary music teacher and performer. In her Music Room, practice made perfect. Patience, dedication and attention to detail are similarly required to craft great Cabernet.
