Region: Givry, Cote-d’Or Burgundy
Our plot is called ‘Chanevarie’ and surrounded the famous Premier Cru ‘Servoisine’ and ‘Celliers aux Moines’. The vines were planted in 1995.
Total area : 1,71 hectares (4,22 acres).
Climate & soil : the vineyard is facing South-East and grown on a soil which is rich in clay.Grapes are harvested by hand then sorted out and totally destemmed. Maceration is made and alcoholic fermentation lasts from 15 to 18 days in temperature-controlled vats, with punching of the cap.
100% of the maturation is done in oak barrels, 20% of which are new. Malolactic fermentation is 100 % realized.
Beautiful crystal, garnet-ruby colour. Nose is rich with deep, earthy, blackcurrant and plum notes. In the mouth, the wine is full and rich. Tannins are silky and the wine develops woody and black fruits aromas.
The wine is well-balanced. Givry Domaine de la Ferté 2013 will perfectly match with grilled meats such as a rib of beef, as well as raw milk cheeses.
