Grangehurst Nikela Cape Blend 2007

Region:  Stellenbosch

Cultivars:  35% Cabernet Sauvignon; 24% Pinotage; 23% Shiraz; 8% Merlot

The name Nikela is a Nguni word meaning “ to offer a gift of dedication, respect or a tribute to one’s ancestors” – this wine being a tribute to winemaker Jeremy Walker’s late parents, who contributed greatly to the establishment of Grangehurst. The various component wines were matured separately in 225 litre barrels (90% French and 10% American) for 28 months.
