“Pale salmon in color, this wine presents attractive aromas of plum and raspberry with a delicate hint of citrus zest. The palate is rounded and fruity, showcasing the brightness and liveliness of strawberry, raspberry, and plum. Beyond its delicious flavour, it offers a lovely mouthfeel and texture, with an appealing fleshiness. There is a light grip, and good body from some lees influence, creating a pleasing harmony of fruit and acid vibrance. The finish reveals citrus notes and an attractive, defined dryness.” – Winemaker

Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on the farm L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert, who passed away in 2001, the farm was taken over by his brother Johann Rupert in 2003. It was Johann Rupert who constructed a state-of-the-art winemaking facility on the estate, and the beginnings of what was to become a sprawling enterprise with a focus on terroir specific wines.
L’Ormarins Estate pays homage to Jean Roi, French Huguenot and pioneer of these historic vineyards. He was one of 150 exiled French Huguenots who emigrated to the Cape and settled in Olifantshoek (what was to become Franschhoek) between 1688 and 1689. Roi was granted sixty morgen and named it after his hometown Lourmarin in Provence. Jean Roi Cap Provincial Rosé is made in the traditional Provencal method, as is still done in his hometown today.
Vines for this blend are all planted on south-facing slopes on their Riebeeksrivier Farm which is situated on the slopes of the Kasteelberg, overlooking the Swartland. Vines are planted at elevations of 350m – 400m above sea level in shale soil.
Blend: Grenache 52%, Cinsault 19%, Mourvedre 17% and Shiraz 12%
