Cultivars: 100% Chenin Blanc
A Chenin Blanc bushvine vineyard planted in 1965 in Piekenierskloof was used to produce this wine. The wine was naturally fermented with extended skin contact. No cold stabilization, filtering or fining took place. The wine rested in old 400L French oak barrels for 5 months to naturally clarify & stabilize. The wine is crystal clear, slightly golden with a lime green rim.
The result is a tight, bright, minerally wine with texture and mouthfeel and an interesting hint of phenolic structure – like soft acidity and pear drop intensity. Built to age and gain complexity in bottle.
This wine has an aging potential of at least 10 years.
