Tasting Notes: The nose delivers fresh blueberries and cherry aromas with undertones of pencil shavings and cloves. The palate is textured and concentrated with savoury nuances, and finishes with fine and silky tannins, perfectly integrated to make this an extraordinary wine.
This gentle wine has a soft tannin structure with upfront, multi-layed fruit and spice aromas. Sweet fruit flavours meet juicy tannins with immense concentration, resulting in a seamless palate. Made in a classic style, the wine showcases the best of Pinotage’s vibrant fruit aromas together with its silky soft tannins that in dance with all the positive attributes, dimension and complexity that the other varietals add to blend.
With this unique Cape Blend – a first in the history of KWV – the winemaking team wishes to pay tribute to Prof. Abraham Perold by honouring the legacy he left not only at KWV, but throughout the South African wine industry.
