The winery L´Avenir, located in the golden triangle between Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, has a rich history dating back to the late 1600s, when the estate was one of the very first sites identified for grape growing by the Cape’s earliest European settlers. When Mauritian Marc Wiehe bought this property in 1992, it was one of many grape suppliers to a major producer. Marc altered course to vinifying for own account, and changed the farm name to L’Avenir – ‘the future’ – to reflect the new direction. L’Avenir is now a leading boutique winery that specialises in South Africa’s emblematic varietals: Pinotage and Chenin Blanc.
The L’Avenir Single Block Pinotage is made from a selection of only the finest barrels produced from L’Avenir’s famed Block 2 Pinotage vineyard. This is the Estate’s flagship and the pinnacle of modern, Stellenbosch Pinotage.
