Tulbagh is the smallest wine region in South Africa and is also well known for its scenery and fertile basin. It is here that the boutique wine farm, Lemberg Wine Estate, is nestled, surrounded by the views of the Witzenberg and Winterhoek Mountains, 120km northeast of Cape Town and 5km south of the historic Tulbagh town. Established in 1978 by legendary winemaker Janey Muller, Lemberg became known for its Sauvignon Blanc and Hárslevelü. The name originates from Lemberg, Poland, now known as Lviv, Ukraine, where her husband was born.
Since it’s purchase in 2007, this boutique estate has seen development in the vineyard and the cellar. The consistent pace for perfection, patience and passion still drives current custodians, Henk du Bruyn and Suzette Jansen van Rensburg to further the labour of love that is Lemberg.
