Longridge Estate is a sustainable winery whose aim is to ‘produce world-class wines in a natural way, applying the age-old traditions of natural winemaking and respecting our land, by not using any herbicides, pesticides or chemical sprays,’ says Jasper Raats, Cellar Master & General Manager. Located in Stellenbosch, Longridge focuses on Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage. Together with their natural, organic and biodynamic methods, they also have free-roaming ducks on the farm which help control insects and other pests, as well as cattle that wander about freely and provide manure for the farm.

Tasting note:
“This vintage delivered a medium bodied wine with a savoury nose and slight cedar characters. Ripe, yet soft tannins complement the aromas of plump, dark, red fruit and ripe strawberries with a hint of dark chocolate, cocoa green herbs and wet stones on the nose. Well integrated vanilla oak and enough backbone to age further in the bottle.” – Winemaker
