Longridge Estate is a sustainable winery whose aim is to ‘produce world-class wines in a natural way, applying the age-old traditions of natural winemaking and respecting our land, by not using any herbicides, pesticides or chemical sprays,’ says Jasper Raats, Cellar Master & General Manager. Located in Stellenbosch, Longridge focuses on Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinotage. Together with their natural, organic and biodynamic methods, they also have free-roaming ducks on the farm which help control insects and other pests, as well as cattle that wander about freely and provide manure for the farm.
Longridge Reserve Chardonnay 2021
R521.00
Region: Stellenbosch
Tasting note:
“Their Longridge Ultra-Premium Reserve Chardonnay has beautiful aromas of French oak, vanilla pods and almond with hints of orange blossom, quince and honey suckle. This wine is full bodied with a long lingering aftertaste of orange, dried apricot, and marzipan, best suited to enjoy with food such as freshly baked bread with rillette, line fish with a beurre blanc sauce or roasted guineafowl/pheasant.” – Winemaker
