Tasting note:

‘There was a mealy and slightly creamy character in the 2022 Cuatro Corros—perhaps the effect of the year on the small plots of old vines planted with a field blend of 50% red varieties and 50% whites. As such, it’s not a very dark red, with a bright ruby color and a nose with notes of cereal, berries, spices and herbs and a medium-bodied palate with tasty flavors, good freshness, balance and very fine tannins. It’s elegant, with medium ripeness and concentration. The vineyard is certified organic, but the wine is not. 800 bottles were filled in August 2023 after aging in 600-liter oak demi-muid. 2024-2030’ – Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, 94/100

Former Young Gun, Bryan MacRobert, moved to Rioja 7 years ago to start Laventura. Today, his new terroir-driven wines are causing a fuss! ‘I want to make Rioja as it once was. I’m trying to make honest wines,’ says Bryan whose wines are refreshing, innovative and true-to-terroir style of Rioja. With cellars located in the centre of La Rioja, they source high-quality grapes from the whole region.
