The Alentejo region, 150km north of the Algarve, has low, rolling hills of wheat, hot temperatures and loads of sun. There are many modern, progressive wineries here making red wines that offer generous fruit, mocha flavours and refined tannins achieved by careful cellar practices and evolution in good wood. The whites range from medium-bodied refreshers to full-bodied wines not unlike Chardonnay. This estate is new and was established in 2000. New plantings and a striking new cellar have come to fruition in a delightful range of wines.
This wine is a blend of 60% Antao Vaz, 30% Arinto and 10% Alvarinho. It has an appealing aroma of yellow field flowers, straw bale and a hint of Muscat. On flavour it is lightish and pleasantly crisp with super vinous length, laced with a muscatty rose-water taint. It will match the sweetish flesh of all shellfish. 12% alc/volume makes it a perfect seafood extravaganza wine…………….
