‘A little more restrained than 2022, but still the acidity is ripe and vibrant – peaches and baobab fruit. Stunning length, and a little prickle of rosemary. More stony in the middle (than the 2022), but starburst luminosity and asterism. Kaleidoscopic. ‘This vintage marks the tenth release of an Albariño from the Newton Johnsons, who now have three hectares of the variety in the ground. Very lightly wood in stainless steel, concrete eggs and (for 9% of the blend) an old foudre, it has peach and passion fruit flavours, a hint of appealing bitterness and a stony finish. 2024-26’ – Tim Atkin; Master of Wine

While the Newton Johnson Family Vineyards Pinot Noir is consistently one of SA’s finest examples. Newton Johnson is a family vineyard led by Dave and Felicity, located in the upper Hemel en Aarde Valley. Their sons, Bevan and Gordon, have taken over their passion for wine, particularly Pinot Noir, and help the vineyards reach new heights.
