Region: Cote-d’Or, Burgundy
De La Garenne Pouilly Fuisse comes from two plots: – La Ruère (46.20 ares): located under the Solutré rock, exposed South-West on a hill, and – Le Moule (15.25 ares): located near the village of Pouilly.
The grapes are harvested by hand and then pressed in a pneumatic press. Alcoholic fermentation and ageing are 100% in oak barrels of which 10% new oak for nine months. The malolactic fermentation is carried out at 100%. The wine has a beautiful pale gold colour with green highlights. The nose is intense with a beautiful volume. It develops aromas of flowers and fruit peels with a saline note. In the mouth, the wine is reminiscent of very ripe lemons, tart with a nice freshness and a mineral touch. Pouilly Fuissé 2014 is perfect with raw tuna, fish in sauce, grilled red meats or blue cheese.
