Schultz Family Wines Dungeons Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Seasoned and widely acclaimed winemaker Rudi Schultz launched his signature label just over twenty years ago, soon after joining Stellenbosch icon Thelema. Rudi comes from a family of top class winemakers, three of five brothers, also being avid surfers. Hailing from Somerset West, the three brothers grew up surfing the local breaks after school most days. Rudi’s inspiration for his range of unique wines comes from his great passion for surfing, his love of the ocean and the world renowned surf breaks. He highlights his love for surfing by adding favourite marine ‘terroirs’ to the names of the wines.
Big, bold and brave. This can be said for the man who paddles out at death-defying Dungeons. It can also be said about Rudi’s Cabernet Sauvignon. From the back line; a sweeping view across Hout Bay and the back of Table Mountain could distract one from the thundering walls of water. But not for long, this wave deserves ones full attention, as does this wine.
