Silverthorn is named after the prolific Karoo Acacia, whose mass of brilliant white thorns makes it one of Africa’s most powerful images. This elegant Cap Classique is made in the traditional bottle fermented method using 100% Shiraz grapes, reputed to have originated from ancient Persia. The wine spent a minimum of 24 months on the lees to enhance complexity and mouth feel. Only a limited 3500 bottles were produced. Wine made by John Loubser. Magic in the bottle Genies are richly entwined into traditional Arabian folklore and mythology and are best described as mischievous free willed spirits formed from “smokeless fire”. Genie is an Anglicization of the original Arabic term Jinn. Capable of both good and evil, the jinn were popular in Middle Eastern literature, notably in the fables of One Thousand and One Nights and if freed from imprisonment in an oil lamp, would grant three wishes to their liberator.
Bright onion skin colour with fine twirling bead of bubbles. Exotic bouquet of Turkish delight and rose water. On the palate it shows fresh raspberries and sherbet flavours supported by a velvety texture, fine mousse and lengthy finish.
