A blend of 46% Encruzado, 29% Malvasia Fina and 25% Vical all grown in the famous Dao region, in Portugal’s north. It takes its name from the Dao River, along which most of its vineyards are located. The river has carved its path through the tough, crystalline Granite mountains for many millennia. The climate here is mild, stable and consistent between vineyard sites, most of which are set at 150-450m altitude. This elevation raises the vines out of the valley’s shadows, towards all-important sunshine, for maximum ripening. The diurnal temperature variation ( cool nights ) allows for good acid retention, therefore freshness in the wines.
Tasting Notes: A citrine-yellow colour with greenish tints. A wine of great aromatic intensity with components of pear, pineapple and citrus fruit, floral nuances and mineral notes. On the palate, it is vinous, very fresh and well-rounded, once again revealing floral notes. It is a very harmonious, elegant and balanced wine.
