Daniël de Waal’s boutique winery, Super Single Vineyards, is tucked away in a quiet valley of Stellenboschkloof on Canettevallei – an old wine and lavender family farm dating back to 1682.
Super Single Vineyards focuses on the production of handcrafted wines from specially selected single vineyards throughout the Western Cape.
The Voorloper vineyard is one of the oldest Syrah vineyards in Stellenbosch and is certified as a Heritage vineyard. Situated on a hill with gravel and pot clay soil, the bushvines yield a small annual crop. It is a dryland vineyard that produces very small berries with a huge concentration of cherries and spice.
‘Voorloper’ is the one that walks in front, the one that leads the way.
