Tasting note:

A Shiraz reflecting the elegance of granitic soils. It invites with subtle floral aromas and spice and earthy dried fynbos of the warm mountain slopes. Fruit forward, with red and dark fruit flavours are complimented with rustic beetroot, earthy rhubarb and black olive tapenade. The palate is elegant with a medium body but with big structural presence and firm tannins. A wine with great bottle-aging possibility.

Swerwer is a name which describes the lives of many young winemakers chasing the vintages across the globe. Established in 2012 by winemaker Jasper Wickens, the Swerwer wines reflect the true character of the Paardeberg in the Swartland. Each grape variety is treated in such a way that it is allowed to fully express itself. A minimum intervention approach is followed as set out by the Swartland Independent Producer guidelines.

Jasper Wickens is regarded as one of South Africa’s most celebrated young winemakers whose wines speak true terroir in each glass. He captures the fruit of the vineyards and the place in each bottle.
