Like the Comtes Blanc de Blanc, this outstanding champagne was produced in the cellars of the thirteenth century Saint-Nicaise Abbey in Reims. Produced only when all conditions essential to its unique style, are met. The harvest must be of exceptional quality and worthy of vintage champagne.
It has a delightful rich rose colour with soft shimmering highlights. The bubbles are extraordinarily delicate and lasting and form a fine necklace of mouse. Its bouquet is delicate but expressive and delightfully fresh, revealing aromas of berries (wild strawberries, morello cherries and blackcurrants). In the background, hints of fresh almonds and liquorice emerge. The initial fruitiness quickly intensifies on the palate. The mid palate is rich and structured, with a tannic tartness reminiscent of blackcurrant and wined pears. The generous finish maintains balance and freshness.
