The Foundry Wine Collection was established on a shoestring budget in 2001 by Chris Williams and his great friend James Reid. With plenty of blood, sweat and tears, developing The Foundry into a leading exponent of the New South Africa wine revolution, gaining numerous accolades and awards for their site specific, terroir defined wines.
The colour is deep, opaque bright ruby. The enticingly perfumed bouquet is exotic with hints of wild herbs, violets, plum fruit and has a pronounced savoury and spicy character. The palate is intense and rich with generous ripe fruit and structured, silky tannins. There is a delicious, lingering, fruit and spice aftertaste.
We recommend this wine with grilled lamb chops and lemon and rosemary roasted potatoes.
