Tokara was purchased in 1994 by GT Ferreira for residential purposes, but it wasn’t long before the great potential for planting vineyards was recognised inspiring the planting of classic varietals on the 400m above sea-level slopes. The cool air and low temperatures contribute to the excellent quality of Tokara Wines. Set high up on the Helshoogte Pass, with breathtaking views of Stellenbosch and Table Mountain in the distance, this really is one of the gems in the Cape Winelands.
A great value Cabernet Sauvignon with a splash of Petit Verdot and Merlot. The wines spent a total of eighteen months in 20% new French oak and the rest being older French oak barriques.
