The estate is 127 hectares in size – 33 hectares of which are under vine. Six varietals are grown, namely Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are planted between 260 and 620 metres above sea level and only nine kilometres from False Bay.
Great care was taken when designating each vineyard site to a particular root-stock, varietal and clone. The latest in technological research was carried out and soil profiles of each individual vineyard drawn up to ensure optimum suitability for each varietal and clone planted.
This Sauvignon Blanc comes from the highest vineyards on the Estate (400 – 470 metres above sea level) on predominantly south-west facing slopes on tukulu soil. Early morning breezes cool the vines, which contributes to the superb natural acidity in the grapes. Decomposed granite soils contribute to minerality on the palate.
