Brothers JP and Pierre Winshaw have released a new vintage of wines under the Winshaw Vineyards label. The wines are inspired by their great-grandfather, Dr. William Charles Winshaw, who started the Stellenbosch Farmers’ Winery, and their grandfather, Bill Winshaw, who continued the growth of this company. The Winshaw Family Farm is located in Klein Welmoed, Stellenbosch where, in addition to wine, Pierre and JP also produce pasture-reared beef, lamb and eggs.
Winshaw Family Vineyards Malbec 2020
Tasting note: Inky dark crimson-red colour. Deep aroma of black cherry, plum and violet, ripe but fresh. Gorgeous fruity core, forming the centre of the full body, cloaked with supple tannins and fresh acids. Nuances of sweet tobacco and subtle oak lace the flavour of this well integrated wine. Drinkable now!
Food pairing: Perfect with beef short-rib slow braised in a rich tomato gravy
