In Spessa di Cividale, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, during the early post-war years, the Zorzettig family was one of the few brave ones to invest resources and efforts in the land, the hills of Spessa, characterised by a unique microclimate and terroir.
Over the years, the company’s expansion also involved the house that is now located inside the company headquarters, a magical place that has become an agritourism resort that breathes centuries of rural history.
The property extends over about 120 hectares of vineyards, producing about 800,000 bottles a year, 50% of which are destined for export, and a growing penetration in various markets, from Asia to the United States, from Australia to northern Europe. The company is now firmly in the hands of Annalisa Zorzettig.
Annalisa’s daughter Veronica has also joined the company, placing her precision, management skills and sincere sensitivity to environmental sustainability and the green world to good use.
All the wines are DOC Friuli Colli Orientali and all are vinified in purity. There are autochthonous Friulian varieties and some allochthonous varieties such as Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Bianco, which express themselves at the highest level on the slopes around Cividale. The vineyards for this production have been carefully selected from among the oldest and most promising on the estate and all the grapes are harvested by hand.
The wines of the Myò Vigneti di Spessa selection are an expression of the growth path that Annalisa Zorzettig has been resolutely pursuing for several years with the help of Friulian oenologists Fabio Coser and Saverio di Giacomo.
The origin of the MYÒ brand lies in an ancient Friulian ballad from the 14th century, where a young man in love compares his woman to his land, both loved more than anything else. MYÒ wants to be a direct reference to the Friulian land, to its traditions and rituals.
