WED 5th Sept: TUSCANY AT TABLE SEVEN. Join Caroline at Table Seven for dinner, in which divine Tuscan food and wine will be served. Chef Luke Wonnacott, who, with over 14 years of experience in some of the world’s top restaurants and hotels, brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to Table Seven. His wife Katie has travelled the UK and Mediterranean as a private chef, interned at the Wolseley but decided to change her course of direction to Event Management. THURS 12th Sept: Wine Quiz. Introducing the Battle of the Palates! Team up or go solo, to put your wine knowledge to the test and have a blast. Our super-knowledgeable Quiz Master, Lieze Norval, will guide you through tasting some of SA’s best wines with questions which will entertain and challenge beginners and winos alike. The top team will win a great prize, while the rest can console themselves with one of the delicious wines of the evening. Entry fee R150 p/p or R480 for a team of four ( max team size ).
THURS 19th Sept: AGULHAS WINE TRIANGLE. This tasting will be the first-ever tasting of this new wine route, est 2019. The Agulhas Plain, home to the southernmost tip of Africa and the meeting place of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans, is believed to have been formed more than 900 million years ago, once having been part of Antarctica. Thousands of flora species flourish in this region characterised by outstretched sand plains, wetlands, gravelly bottomlands and extensive limestone and calcareous dunes. Until fifteen years ago, all of the wineries used to be agricultural or cattle and sheep farms. The wineries have achieved amazing success by experimenting with different blends, cultivars and flavours. The consistently cool, moderate climate between Walker Bay and Cape Agulhas and the mineral-rich soil have proven to be perfect for making a fine range of wines. Join us in a walk-round tasting in the company of the eight producers who form the membership.

THURS 17th October: ALHEIT WINES with Chris Alheit himself. This man deserves a place in the Brilliant Young Winemaker Finals! Taste his Cartology 2018, Fire By Night Chenin 2018, Nautical Dawn Chenin 2018, Huilkrans Chenin 2018, Magnetic North Chenin 2018, La Colline Semillon 2018 and Hemelrand Vine Garden 2018 ( a blend of Rouss/Chard/Chenin & Muscat from Upper Hemel-en-Aarde ). Miniscule quantities are grown and made into wine from these small, old vineyards, so make sure you experience them before they’re all gone for the year.
